In what was called "National Day of Resistance" and coordinated with supporters of the Second Amendment around the country, people gathered in front of the State House in Concord on Saturday afternoon, February 23, 2013 to show their opposition to recent gun-control proposals from both state and federal lawmakers. Speakers such as former chair of the state GOP, Jack Kimball, attended the rally. "I came to be visible," Taylor Mignault, a gun owner since 2009 from Northwood said. "Show gun owners are normal, law-abiding citizens." He was one of many who attended the rally carrying a firearm, a strap on his left shoulder while carrying a flag which read, "Come and take it," on his right.
